Language Learning In addition to print resources for English Language learners, one can access Pronunciator which provides both guided and self-directed instruction for 80 languages, and ESL for 51 non-English languages. This resource uses a variety of tools to provide “360-degree exposure” to a language within a safe, structured learning environment.
  3. Play Video games Whether you’re a Call of Duty fan or Mario is more your speed, we have Wii, Xbox and Switch games you can borrow, as well as a Nintendo Switch Console and an Oculus Go (Virtual Reality Unit).
  4. Access Newspapers You have access to thousands of newspapers from around the world in a variety of languages through Press Reader.
  5. Listen to Audiobooks on the Go Maybe you haven’t got much time for physical books or maybe you’re dying for something to do on your commute. You can download or stream right from your phone with Overdrive (Libby App), and Hoopla.
  6. Get Reading Recommendations If you never know what to read next, Novelist will help you on your quest. You can browse authors, genres, award winners, read-alikes and so much more to find your next great read.
  7. Discover a new passion Fancy taking up a hobby Creativebug, want to delve into your family history with Ancestry Library Edition (this can only be accessed by using our public computers.
  8. Dive into Comics and Graphic Novels Online Black Panther, Guardians of the Galaxy, Deadpool, Riverdale, The Walking Dead and more are available instantly on Hoopla.
  9. Record Oral Histories You can now borrow our Digital Storytelling kit for 42 days. This kit includes an audio recorder and a copy of “The Oral History Workshop.”
  10. Makerspace and Educator Kits Our Educator Kits can be borrowed, and they cover a wide range of topics and age ranges. These kits are specially designed in house and new kits are added regularly. In our Makespace section you can find kits that support STEAM learning including: Snap Circuits, Code-a-pillar, LEGO robotics and microscopes.
  11. Board Games Have you ever wanted to try a game before buying… well, now you can. Feel free to sign out a Board game such as Monopoly, Last Night on Earth and Santorini. We even place a contents note on the front cover so items can be easily returned without missing pieces.
  12. Access to Magazines With your library card Library Members can access magazines online through Overdrive.

Print Disabled Resources We provide access to both Centre for Equitable Library Access (CNIB) and National Network for Equitable Library Service (nnels.ca) to people with no vision, low vision, Autism, intellectual disabilities, ADHD, hearing loss, learning disability that significantly interferes with reading or a physical disability that significantly interferes with reading.
