What are Hi/Lo books?

July 21 2022

Hi-Lo books are titles that are interesting to an adult or teen reader but are comprised of simple vocabulary and syntax, short chapters, a slim page count, and gripping story lines. Hi-Lo books are used to help struggling and/or reluctant readers strengthen comprehension skills, build confidence, and spark a love of reading.

The titles on this list will engage readers with fast-paced plots, exciting facts, and easy-to-read language. The big bonus is that this is just a few titles you can access with your free library card.
