October 25 2021

So you have just experienced the most amazing book, and you want something else just like it. How do you find something similar? You might not know exactly what it was about it that you enjoyed so much. Here are some helpful resources to find your next great read.

Novelist connects readers with new books to read and has a variety of fun tools. NoveList can help you search for your favourite author to get a list of author read-a-likes, browse reading lists, search by subject and even find books based on character types, tone or illustration style. Please note that a valid library membership is required to access Novelist.

Book Connections focuses on children’s and young adult books. You can browse titles, watch meet-the-author videos and discover titles based on interest, subject and even reading level.

Five Books site contains interviews from experts in the field who share their top five book picks in their area of expertise. Titles include nonfiction & fiction, as well as a wide range of genres.

You can always contact the main branch at 780-623-7467 or email info@llbcl.ca for further assistance in finding or placing requests for materials. We always encourage you to place a hold on the titles you wish to read as our copies often do not sit very long on our shelves and it guarantees your place in line.
