Sent: Dec 29 2014Lac La Biche County Libraries is pleased to announce the 2015 Winter Reading Program “Celebrate!” The program will start on the 1st of January and will run until the end of February and is open to all ages. All you need to do is READ, READ, and READ! For every 7 hours that you do, you are entered for a chance to win great prizes! Just stop by at either Stuart MacPherson Public Library or Plamondon Municipal Library for your activity pamphlet and reading logs available on our websites and Facebook page. The logs are to be returned to the main branch (Stuart MacPherson Public Library) on or before Saturday, February 28th for a chance to win exciting prizes. You can also get out of the cold weather and join in the fun activities that we have planned for this years “Celebrate” theme.
Screenwriting to Die For (RISE Video-conference) on Monday, January 12th in the ATB Room from 7-8pm. Young adult paranormal author, Judith Graves shares her experiences writing scripts for network television and offers tips on the craft of screenwriting. All adults and young adults are welcome to attend this free event.
Roaming Rhyme Time at the Festival Centre in Plamondon will run on Tuesday, January 13th and 27th from 10:30-11:30am. This free program is designed for 0-5 years old and must be accompanied by a caregiver. The hosts are the Lac La Biche County Libraries and Parent Link and no registration is required.
Lego Club will be held on Tuesday, January 13th from 6:00-7:30pm in the ATB Room. All ages (including adults) are welcome to come play with LEGO no registration or payment required.
The next Read and Roll will start on Wednesdays in the ATB Room starting on January 14th. This is a partner program between the Lac La Biche County Libraries, Parent Link and Alberta Health Services specially designed for children aged 3 & 4. Please note that registration for this free program is required, please call 780-623-7467 for more details.
Rhyme Time will resume on Thursday, January 15th at 10:30am in the ATB Room. Come join the Rhyme Time Team for a free fun filled session with rhymes, stories, songs and special guests. This is a partner program between the Lac La Biche County Libraries and Parent Link and no registration is required.
The next session of Chicka, Chicka Book Club starts on Thursday, January 15th. Pre-registration for this partner program between the Lac Biche County Libraries, Parent Link and Alberta Health Services is required for each 7 week session. This program is designed for ages 18 - 35 months and children need to be accompanied by their caregiver.
Free preschool program entitled Pajama Time will be held on Tuesday, January 20th from 6-6:30pm. This program is for children aged 0-5 and they are to be accompanied by a caregiver and you can wear your PJs.
Happening Homeschoolers will be held on Friday, January 23rd from 1:30-2:30pm in the ATB Room. All homeschooling families are welcome to attend this free event.
Paper Crafts & More will be held on Tuesday, January 27th from 6:00-7:30pm and is for ages 11 and up. It will be held in the ATB Room and all materials to make cards, boxes and much more will be provided at no charge.
Our next RISE Video Conference presentation entitled [email protected]: Losing a Job and Wrongful Dismissal will take place on Wednesday, January 28th from Noon-1:30pm in the ATB Room. Feel free to bring your lunch to this free session.
Extra Extra!!! Free special event held right in the Stuart MacPherson Public Library and the ATB Room on Wednesday, January 28th designed for all ages. The Edmonton TELUS Science in Motion Team presents "Electricity".
A Winter Reading Club Special Event entitled Celebrate Reading will be held in the ATB Room on Thursday, January 29th from 4:00-6:00pm. Come to enjoy stories and a craft and feel free to bring your entire family!
