TD Summer Reading Club 2016 "Let's Get Wild" with the Lac La Biche County Libraries. Registrations have started and need to be done in person at the main branch so you can receive your reading club package. Whoever reads the most titles from July 1st to August 31st will win prizes. Call 780-623-7467 for more information. SRC events are open to all ages and will be held on Wednesdays from 2-4pm. Some of the upcoming themes include: Where the Wild Things are, Wild Hacking and Duct Tape Boats.

Yoga is great for adults of all ages, especially seniors. Studies have shown that yoga can be extremely helpful when it comes to combating stress, fatigue, and pain. Some yoga poses increase core strength and balance, which reduces the risk of fall-related injuries. Other poses can alleviate senior-related health issues such as menopause. Join Bonnie from Inner Focus Yoga for a fun hour of Chair Yoga on Thursday, June 23rd from 11:00-12:00pm.

The last Papercrafts and More will be held at the main branch from 10:00-4:30pm on Friday, June 24th. This program is for tweens and up and all materials will be provided. Sessions will resume in the Fall.

Our last Maker Mondays - Lego Club until the Fall will be held on Monday, June 27th from 5:00-7:00pm in the ATB Room. All ages, including adults are welcome to attend.

Free family event - Sprinkles the Clown “Little Red Riding Hoods Magical Adventure” will be held on Wednesday, July 6th.

  • 10am at the Plamondon Municipal Library

Arctic Discoveries - Gray Wolves of Alaska will be held on Wednesday, June 13th at 11:30am right in the Stuart MacPherson Public Library. With this year's TD Summer Reading Program theme being "Wild," it is the perfect opportunity to invite your young patrons ages 5-11 into your library to meet a real live wolf! Okay, so they will be meeting them on screen, but your young patrons are sure to be mesmerized by this educational, 45 minute videoconference opportunity hosted by the Alaska Zoo and their wolf pack.

RISE Event: Pirates will be held on Thursday, July 14th at the main branch starting at 2pm. Set sail during the Golden Age of Piracy to learn about the reality of pirates! Participants will be introduced to the stereotypical concepts of pirates and discuss where images of hooks, peg legs and eye patches originated. By examining such pirates as Edward Teach, otherwise known as Blackbeard, Captain Kidd and Calico Jack, participants will learn about the lives of real pirates. Recommended for ages 10+ and will be presented by Anne Marie Millar of The Mariners' Museum.

For more information about our programs and services please call the main branch at 780-623-7467.
