“Our goal is to provide our patrons with excellent service, 24 hours a day, seven days a week,” said Mircea Panciuk, Executive Director at Northern Lights Library System. “By partnering with hoopla digital, we’re able to stay connected with our patrons, while providing excellent service outside of our doors with thousands of new materials, ranging from entertainment to educational. The service is also digital, so there is no waiting period for popular titles and hoopla’s automatic return means no late fees.”

The Government of Alberta has signed an agreement with hoopla digital to make the service available in 13 public library systems across Alberta. The service is expected to be live in roughly 300 physical Alberta branch locations by the end of July.

Northern Lights Library System is the nineteenth system in Canada to partner with the service. Current partners include Toronto Public Library, Calgary Public Library, Yellowhead Regional Library, Hamilton Public Library, Edmonton Public Library, Essex County Library, Windsor Public Library and many others.

“With hoopla digital, it is our mission to help public libraries meet the needs of the mobile generation. We’ve worked for years to create a best-in-breed service that is fun, fast and reliable. And we continue to secure content deals to expand the offering of movies, TV shows, music and audiobooks,” said Jeff Jankowski founder and owner of hoopla digital.
