What's Going on at LLBCL – Jan 13th Edition

Thank you to everyone who made our 2020 Library Con such a success. We had 162 attendees, vendors, volunteers, staff and presenters visit our main branch on Saturday.

Let’s Play Metewetan is a partner program between Lac La Biche Native Friendship Centre, Parent Link and the library that will be held at the Native Friendship Centre. Join us on January 13th from 5:30-7pm for a cultural family literacy program for parents and their children ages 0-6. This program encourages parents to sing, rhyme, talk and play with their children. All family are welcome, and a free dinner will be provided.

2020 Winter Reading Club. All ages are welcome to participate in the Winter Reading Club. Track every minute spent reading for the months of January and February for a chance to amazing prizes! To ensure your chance to win, please fill in our online Winter Reading Log which is available on our home page under the quick links and is due on or before by March 1st.

Steampunkery: A STEAM Program will be held on select Wednesdays from 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM. Upcoming projects include:
• Jan 15th - Magic the Gathering/Dungeons and Dragons
• Jan 29th - Stop animation video
• Feb 26th - Ice Making

Rhyme Time is held on Thursdays in the Wild Rose Room staring at 10:30am. This free drop-in partner program between the Lac La Biche County Libraries and Parent Link is designed for ages 0 to 5 and no registration is required.

Rattle and Chat will run on Wednesday January 8th – February 12th from 10:30 -11:30am in the Wild Rose Room. This free partner program between Lac La Biche County Libraries & Parent Link is designed for ages 0 - 17 months and their caregivers with no registration required.

Lac La Biche County Libraries is an official venue for Global Game Jam on January 31st through February 2nd. This event is open to students, hobbyists, and professionals who are interested in coming out, and joining a team of developers who will create a game over the course of 48 hours based on a theme set by the Global Game Jam organization.

Other upcoming events:
2020 LEGO Competition will be held on Saturday, Feb 8th from 10-3pm
Ladies Night for ages 13 and up will be held on Friday, Feb 28th from 6-10pm and registration is required.
Health and Wellness Fair table registration is now open for the event on Thursday, Mar 12th from 4-6:30pm
