Raised hands with the word volunteering

Volunteering with us means developing new skills, sharing your love of libraries with others, and making new friends. We constantly review applications and match applicants with a suitable volunteer role.

Volunteering does not automatically improve your chances of getting a job at the Library. Experience, including volunteer experience, is considered when reviewing employment applications.

Please note that adult volunteers must supply a criminal record check and all volunteers go through the interview process.

Youth Board Member and Youth Ambassadors

YOUR LIBRARY BOARD NEEDS YOU!

Looking for a Youth Board Member and Youth Ambassadors to join our team.

Lac La Biche County Library Board is responsible for the management of our two sites located at the Bold Center (The Stuart MacPherson Public Library) and at École Plamondon (The Plamondon Municipal Library). We serve the entire Lac La Biche County, including our surrounding indigenous communities.

Nine committed board members volunteer their time and talent to ensure that we fulfill our responsibilities in support of library staff providing quality services to the community.

We meet up to Wednesday evenings yearly at the Bold Center location for about 3 hours.  We review our Plan of Service progress ensuring proper use of physical, fiscal, and human resources to meet library member needs.

Changes to our bylaws have expanded to include a Youth Board Member between the ages of 16 – 24 to serve, as well as, two Youth Ambassadors (14-16).   We want to bring a youthful perspective to our deliberations and plans plus find ways to reach other youth, encouraging their involvement in Library programs and services.

If you would like to gain experience as a Board Member with a dynamic, community focused organization – we want to hear from you!  We can offer a learning opportunity serving as an active Board Member and the chance to help us reach other youth in a meaningful way.

Contact Maureen Penn, Library Director at 780-623-6384 for more information before submitting your application.

Please submit a cover letter, application form and resume to: Fax: 780-623-2039, E-mail [email protected], Deliver to McArthur Place, 2nd Floor on or before
