Do you like science fiction, fantasy, steampunk, comics, gaming, or anime? Then come join us at our Annual Library Con! This is a pop culture convention is taking place during our Winter Reading Club 2018 on Saturday, January 6th. So, don your cape, grab your hat, jump in your TARDIS and join us at the Stuart MacPherson Public Library where we will have activities for all ages from 11-3:30pm including a costume contest, Happy Harbor Comics vendor table, steampunk jewelry, graphic artists and two author presentations.

Maker Wednesdays is held at the main branch from 4-6pm from September - June. All ages are welcome to attend this free program. The weeks alternate between LEGO, Coding, 3D printing and Snap Circuits / Makey Makey.

Rhyme Time will resume on Thursday, January 18th at 10:30am in the ATB Room. This free drop in partner program between the Lac La Biche County Libraries and Parent Link is designed for ages 0 to 5 and their caregivers.

Paper Crafts & More runs on Fridays at the main branch from 11am-3:30pm. This free program is for tweens and up. All materials will be provided, and staff assistance is available as required for this drop-in program.

Roaming Rhyme Time will be at the Festival Centre on Tuesday, January 23rd starting at 10:30am. This free program is designed for 0-5 years old and must be accompanied by a caregiver. The hosts are the Lac La Biche County Libraries and Parent Link and no registration is required. Remote Circulation will also be available during this time.

The next Happening Homeschoolers will be held on Friday, January 26th starting at 1:30pm. All homeschooling families are welcome to attend this free event.

2018 Winter Reading Club. All ages are welcome to participate in the Winter Reading Club. Track every minute spent reading for the months of January and February for a chance to amazing prizes! To ensure your chance to win, please hand in your Reading Logs to either Stuart MacPherson Public Library by February 28, 2018 or fill in our online form available on our home page.

Family Literacy Day’s Read for 15 Community Challenge. Lac La Biche County Libraries is encouraging our community members to read for 15 minutes on Friday, January 26th – Saturday 27th. Participants will have a chance to win prizes by calling 780-623-7467 or by filling out the online form which will be available on the Lac La Biche County Libraries homepage.
